Sustainability
& Stewardship.
Our Mission
To facilitate the active participation of the community in the stewardship of the land base and to demonstrate its capability to practice exemplary stewardship of an extremely complex, diverse and rich area while practicing sound and viable use of resources.
What is the FORt St James Community Forest?
The Fort St. James Community Forest is Area-Based, so think of it as its own little Timber Supply Area, where nobody else can harvest and the Community holds the long-term tenure. There are 3 areas or “Forest Development Units” (FDUs) that make up the Fort St. James Community Forest; Dog Creek, Murray Ridge and Onjo.
